Happy Anniversary!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to my basement!
That's right, it was one year ago today we started working on our basement and I am so glad that we are done with house projects... wha? there is more? I didn't even have time to finish that last sentence! Not sure how many of you saw the progress of the basement after I blogged about it, but here is a gallery of photos of the work that was done.

Okay, so the next few projects will not be as big as the last, but they have been on our list of to-dos for a while.

Master bathroom remodel. Not sure how extensive the remodel will be (c'mon tax returns, Daddy needs a new bathroom!) but definitely will include a new bath and surround, new heated tile floors and a new vanity counter top. I would love to demo the whole thing, but probably not in the budget. I would like to also tile the girl's bathroom, that shouldn't be a lot of work to include with the mater bath remodel.

Privacy fence. We have a corner lot which is so nice. The side of the backyard that is along the road is a split rail with wire mesh.... don't ask me, it was the owners before, must have had a dog or something. While we like the open feeling, we also don't like the open feeling. It would be nice to have a little more security when the girls are running around in the backyard, and not to have our neighbors know what we are doing every single minute of the day! A little bit of quiet time with the family on the deck would be nice!

Additional Summer projects.

Grilling Area: Right now I have a nice little area of the deck for the outdoor grill. I would like to visually connect it to the deck somehow and add some type of prep area.

Fire pit. A nice little 10'x10' stone paver area in the back yard with a fire pit and seating.

Roof over the front door. I would like to bump out the roof a bit to make a little roof covering over the front door of the house. Would look nice and be functional!

Good luck to me.

Office Art

Over the past weekend Grace helped me work on a quick and easy art project for my new office. Nothing like throwing paint all over the place on some canvas out in the back yard!

2 months

Wow, I think this is an annual problem with me.

I just checked my old posts and noticed that I had a similar post last October... called "3 Months"!

I just get stuck in a rut, "think" of blogging, but never get the drive to actually blog.

At this moment I have a family website I update every Monday, I have a blog about a construction project that I am involved, and try to keep that up as much as I can and now I am in charge of my work's blog! I am seriously bloggged out!

What I need to do is think of this blog as something fun, become more random with my thoughts and not care what I post.

Consider this a re-birth of caRANTit!

"No Shave" November UPDATE II

Oh snap! just found this website about "Movember" I guess they are more about the moustache... but I guess this is the most legit reason not to shave!

http://us.movember.com/

And i just found out there are parties! May have to hit one up at the end of this month!

"No Shave" November UPDATE

C'mon stupid hair, grow! Doesn't help that the hair that is growing is blond! Hard to see that in the picture... oh well. Holiday pictures are around the corner, and I am sure the wife will not want me to be all lumberjack in them... may have to go!

"No Shave" November

We had family over a few weeks ago for dinner and my 16-year-old-nephew asked me if I was going to do "No Shave November"?

After a little discussion, it is supposed to be some event where you don't shave, guessing men ( I have been corrected, through some research, woman also participate), for the month of November for some support of something. Kinda vague I know, but it seems like there really isn't a formal site declaring "No Shave November" as a real event, just a bunch of websites talking about it.

Anyways, fashionably late, I decided I would try to see what I could grow. Not for any cause, just for S's and G's. This could get interesting.
I can already feel it growing in!

This is what I think will happen

Actually, it will probably come in all black/brown/red/blondish and all patchy!
Will keep you up-to-date with photos!
